Birlirr Ngawiyiwu Catholic School was founded in 1986 and serves the Kundat Djaru Aboriginal Community - a strong catholic group - and is the main community project in which all are involved.

	A unique focus for the school is the bilingual Jaru and English program where children and adults learn together.
	Beginning in a bough shed, the school is now housed in a modern and well-equipped building.
